Blended Learning

Our educational approach is designed to ensure that your child excels at each developmental stage and is well-prepared for the next. Our youngest learners, the Explorers (K – 2nd grade), engage with the Abeka curriculum, which lays a solid foundation in early education.

In the Explorers camp, we utilize a blended learning approach that combines traditional face-to-face classroom instruction with online learning and independent study. Blended learning in early education (K-2nd grades) effectively combines one-on-one teacher interaction with the introduction of self-paced learning elements. This approach focuses on foundational skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic through direct instruction, which is critical for young learners’ academic and emotional development. Gradually, it integrates technology like educational apps and adaptive learning technologies that encourage students to begin managing aspects of their learning independently. This prepares them for increased responsibility and more complex educational tools used in higher basecamps.

By the time students reach the Pathfinders Basecamp, they are well-prepared to transition to a more autonomous learning environment, having developed a solid foundation in essential skills and an early ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Play Based Learning

We also include Play-Based Learning in our educational approach for the Explorers Base Camp. Play-based learning actively supports holistic development by fostering both social interactions and individual exploration, which are critical at this early stage. Through this approach, children engage in a variety of structured and unstructured play activities that are deliberately designed to promote cognitive development, creativity, and physical skills. By manipulating objects, acting out roles, or constructing environments, children not only acquire knowledge but also enhance their communication and problem-solving abilities. This method encourages a love of learning and curiosity about the world, setting a strong foundation for all future academic endeavors.
